Mike Freed - #24 SHRED Racing Predator
1978-1988 : Mechanic for a Super Sportsman at Silver Spring Speedway.
1989-1992 : First experience on the ATV flat track circuit in central PA.
1995 : Formed his own 270 CC micro sprint team.
1995-2003 : Ran 270 CC micro sprints primarily at Clyde Martin Memorial Speedway (LANCO) in Brickerville PA picking up several feature wins. Also included appearances at Linda's (PA), Path Valley (PA), Middleford (DE), Silver Spring (PA), Trail-way (PA), and 211 Speedway(NC).
2004 : Hired to drive a 600 CC micro (The team would later become SHRED Racing) part time at Linda's and LANCO. Also ran the full season in his own 270 CC micro.
2005 : First full season in a 600 CC micro driving for SHRED Racing. Picked up his first career 600 feature win on July 9 at LANCO. Also made appearances at Linda's (PA), Hill Valley (PA), Airport (DE), Greenwood Valley (PA), Path Valley (PA), Trail-way (PA), and 211 Speedway (NC).
2006 : 1 win and 6 top 5’s in approximately 40 appearances. Finished 9th in point standings at LANCO. Won our heat race and finished 20th out of 102 cars at the Super 600 Showdown. Timed 8th fastest out of 100 cars and won our heat race at the Linda’s National Open.
2007 : Picked up the feature win at LANCO on July 14. Picked up first career win at Kutztown (also first career wingless win) on August 8. Qualified for the feature in 91% of the events run (41 out of 45). Ran 3 wingless events finishing 1st, 3rd, and 5th.
2008 : Scored several second place finishes and finished 9th in points at Kutztown. Picked up the win in the prestigious Clyde Martin Memorial Race at LANCO on July 26 becoming one of only a handful of drivers to accomplish this in more than one division (Also won the Clyde Martin Trophy in the 270 cc division in 2000). Finished 8th in the points at LANCO. Also scored top 5 finishes at Airport Speedway, Williams Grove Speedway, Linda's Speedway, and Susquehanna Speedway.
2009 : Suffered through a very disappointing season that saw Mike sit out several weeks with motor problems. Failed to score a feature win for the first time since 2004.
2010 : Returned to victory lane picking up the win at LANCO on June 19th. Ran in the wingless 600's at Borger's Speedway for the first time picking up several top ten's including a 2nd place finish.
Bruce Ginther Jr. - #28 SHRED Racing Predator
2004 : Formed the Jesus Race Team and began competing in the 4 cyl. Strictly Stock division. Picked up a total of 9 victories, including a pair of season ending 50 lap events at Hill Valley Speedway and Path Valley Speedway. Also claimed the 4 cyl Strictly Stock point championship at Path Valley.
2005 : Moved up to the 8 cyl. Strictly Stock division. Picked up 5 victories enroute to another point championship at Path Valley.
2006 : Ran another season in the 8 cyl. Strictly Stock divsion, picking up 3 more wins and claiming another point championship at Path Valley.
2007: Formed a 270 cc micro sprint team and began making the tough transition to open wheel racing. Picked up the Sportsman of the Year award at LANCO (Clyde Martin Memorial Speedway).
2008 : Ran a second full season at LANCO in his 270 cc micro sprint enduring another challenging year. Also made several starts in the SHRED Racing Team's back up 600 cc micro sprint in preparation for a full time move to that division in 2009.
2009 : Ran his first full season of 600cc competition. Picked up his first career 600cc win on May 9th at LANCO and backed that up with another win on July 18th. Finished 8th in his first wingless race at Hamlin Speedway.
2010 : Experienced an up and down sophomore year in the 600 picking up several top ten finishes before finally breaking into victory lane during LANCO's final race of the season on September 18th. |
